In the German edition of the Roitschocrene monograph from 1687, the legend of Pegasus and the famous birth of Rogaška spring were depicted in engravings.The story tells us that God Apollon told Pegasus how to hit with its hoof to open the healing spring. This is the first scientific book on Rogaška mineral water.

When you walk in the health resort center, make a stop at Pegasus platform near the magnificent Pegasus monument, that proudly rises up to the sky. The statue is the work of the renowned academic sculptor and painter Vasilije Ćetković Vasko, who depicted the winged horse with a golden hoof.

Vasilije Cetkovic-Vasko, a renowned academic sculptor and painter, was born in Montenegro, studied in Split, and graduated in 1965 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana with professors Boris and Zdenko Kalin. With his wife Ana, he settled down in Prekorje near Celje, where he created and exhibited his art works. In 2000, they moved to Rogaška Slatina.

Of course not with a real one! In the only pool with thermomineral water in Rogaška Slatina, right in the middle of the pool there is a Pegasus statue. It symbolically indicates that in the pool there is the healing natural mineral water that, according to the legend, the mythological horse discovered in ancient times.
